The Agent program is fully described below. You will be provided with an Agent identifier for both Accxx as well as RSLCOM long distance companies, and you may choose either or both companies to market.
Why two companies? As both companies have basically the same interstate rate, each of the two companies have different intrastate rates, so depending on what state your customer is located, you can choose the intrastate rate that is the lowest between the two companies. Also, as RSLCOM does not have internet customer signup (a paper form must be filled out), if you are talking to a customer who wants to take the "easy" internet signup method to change long distance service, then you can just mention the Accxx company. One other point is that if the customer does mainly interstate calls, then you should probably choose Accxx as its easy to direct the customer to your dedicated web site for on-line signup (no forms to fill out).
What are the two types of Agents that CTS offers? Basically, an Agent can choose to be established in one of two categories depending on the amount of effort or long term committment that you as an agent wish to put into this venture:
1. The Full Service Agent works with the new phone customer to answer questions, fill out Letter of Agency (LOA) and other forms to set up new service, and provides service on an on-going basis directly to the customer to assure that the customer remains with Accxx's long distance service. This involves sometime some extensive time to monitor and track the order entry process to get the customer on service. 95% of all new Agents should probably NOT choose to be a Full Service Agent. CTS does not normally have any contact directly with the Full Service Agent's customers. Commissions are received on a continual basis for each customer as defined in the Agent Agreement; this rate as defined in the Agreement is typically 9% of the customer's interstate rate, 11% of the customer's intrastate rate, and 11% on the customer's calling card billing. A Full Service Agent does not have the internet sign-up availability at Accxx.
2. The Referral Service Agent provides either the name of a potential new customer to CTS, informs the customer to go to the Agent's web site (for Accxx), or gives the customer a blank form (with your Agent identifier) to help CTS establish that potential new customer on long distance service. Regarding your Agent's web site for Accxx, we develop this web site for you at no cost and host it on our web server, also at no cost. The internet web site has your (the Agent's) identifier so that all persons that you direct to this web site to sign up for long distance service will be credited to you. In some cases, the Referral Service Agent may just want to provide a recommendation or an application form to persons and doesn't want to get involved with the details of providing long distance service to customers and have to offer continued support for these customers. The sign-up forms can have our (CTS) name on the forms, but of course your Agent number would be on the form and this is how we track the correct commissions to you. Commissions are received on a continual basis based upon a percentage of each customer's monthly long distance phone bill as defined in the Referral Agent Agreement. Because of the considerably less work involved in being this type of agent, the commission rate is lower (5% of the customer's long distance charges on the customer's bill). After giving the potential customer CTS's contact name, providing customer the Agent's web site for direct sign-up (Accxx), or providing the customer with the Letter of Agency form, the Agent is not required to have any additional customer contact. CTS then does the following:
What are commissions based upon? The commission is based upon the customer's actual charge for the call. For example, if a customer makes a 10 minute interstate call with RSLCOM, the call amount is $0.49 and you as an Agent would receive commissions on that $0.49. Commissions are not generated from any charges not directly calculated from the customer's call, e.g., taxes that the customer pays to the federal government are not commissionable.
Can you as an agent (Referral or Full Service Agent) have other agents distributing forms and setting up customers? Yes. We provide a 3% agent referral fee to you for your sub-agent's customer's monthly commissioned bill. This means that your sub-agent would generate the normal 5% Referral Agent fee and you would get 3%. Both your commissions generated from your customers and your sub-agent's commissions generated by the sub-agents would be paid by CTS to you. You would then pay your your sub-agents their commissions. All of your sub-agents will have a unique agent number, and you would be classified as a group agent. Your monthly report from CTS will separate out all of your individual sub-agent amounts in the monthly commission report. Any sub-agent that generates over $25/month commissions, you have the option to have CTS pay those commissions directly to your sub-agent.
When are commissions paid? Commissions are typically paid on or about the 15th of the month following the month after the customer's billing month has been closed. For example, if a customer's billing is sent out January 31, then typically by March 15th, your commission check would be mailed for that customer's January long distance calls.
Why would you want to deal with CTS instead of directly with Accxx or RSLCOM? Well, you could, but CTS (as a Master Agent) has the following advantages that we can offer you as an agent under CTS:
*you can request these items not to be sent to your customer.
What is identical between being an Accxx agent and CTS agent?
What is in the agent's startup package? In the startup package of information, you will receive:
What is an Agent Code? As an Agent (either Full or Referral Service Agent), you are assigned an Agent Code for each of the two long distance companies to allow for the proper assignment of commissions. With the information you will receive, an Agent Code will be set up for you to use usually within 24 hours for you to utilize. The web page will also be set up for you usually within that same 24 hours.
How do I sign up to be an Agent?
You can sign up on-line to be an Agent, or you can request that the package be mailed to you. If mailed, the Full and Referral Service Agent Agreement will also be sent and you will need to sign one of the Agreements to become an Agent.
Is there any fee to become an Agent? There is no fee to be an Agent.
Do I receive commissions on my own long distance phone number? Yes and no. You do not receive commissions on your own phone number until you have had 3 customers sign up, at which time, you will also receive commissions on your own phone calls. We do this to prevent persons saying they want to become agents but only want the commissions on their own phone number.
Why don't we give commissions on an Agent's own long distance service at the time the Agent signs up to be an agent? Because it takes a tremendos effort on our part to set up a new agent, we don't want a person to sign up as an Agent just to get an additional discount on their own long distance service and then not get any new customers. We feel that if a person is requesting to be an Agent, then they probably have 3+ customers that they can get quickly switched, so the Agent's own long distance service would be quickly receiving an additional discount.
How quick can I become an Agent? We normally can get an agent setup, forms developed, and a web site custom imbeded with an Agent's code within about 24 hours (assuming on-line signup).
How do I sign up on-line to be an Agent? To become an agent on-line, you will need an email address for us to send you the customer signup forms. Forms are used for those customers who do not have direct internet access to sign up on-line, for those customers who want to sign up using a paper form, or for any marketing you want to do by just handing out paper forms for persons to sign up.
